Welding inspection and pressure vessels

During construction and periodic inspection of pressure vessels:

Andishehpardazan Sanat Persia Co. (ASP) is authorized by National Accreditation Center of Iran (NACI) and Iranian National Standards Organization to inspect pressure vessels in two stages:
Inspection during construction of pressure vessels
Periodic inspection of pressure vessels

Inspection during construction of pressure vessels:

This type of inspection to be performed in accordance with ISIRI 18132 and ASME SEC VIII. The aforementioned standards are the general and reference standards for inspection during construction of pressure vessels and boilers, and the construction of all pressure vessels and boilers should be carried out in accordance with the requirements specified in these standards and under the supervision of the approved inspection company. Inspection certificate will be issued towards the end of construction and after successful performance of required inspections.

Inspection of pressure vessels according to ISIRI 18132 includes the following steps, which are carried out by the approved inspection company:

  • Initial review of QCP or ITP and approved drawings provided by the client.
  • Control of WPS which are provided by the client
  • Verification of WQT Welder Personnel
  • Confirmation of provided PQR procedure after performing destructive tests
  • Inspection and approval of consumable materials including sheets, fittings, flanges, electrodes, etc.
  • Inspection and monitoring of shearing & forming sheet metals (rolling)
  • Inspection of lens shaping (dimensional control of lenses) in accordance with the pressure vessel construction drawings.
  • Assembly inspection and monitoring
  • Conduction of non-destructive testing (NDT)
  • Fittings assembly & welding inspection and monitoring
  • Sandblast monitoring and inspection
  • Painting inspection and monitoring
  • Issuance of inspection certificate
Periodic inspection of pressure vessels:

Pressure vessels are utilized in various industries and for safety purposes, these equipment should be subject to annual inspection and evaluation. Periodic inspections of pressure vessels are carried out in accordance with international standards.

Periodic inspections of pressured vessels include:
  • Visual Inspection
  • Wall Thickness test
  • Hydrostatic test
  • Internal inspection of the vessel
  • Testing of control equipment

If all of the above items are approved, the health certificate will be issued for a period of one year.

Any repairs to the pressure vessel should be carried out in coordination with and under the supervision of the approved inspection company, otherwise this will invalidate the inspection certificate.
